I'm happy for him, but this is kinda odd and a little similar to what caused the problems in the 1st place. Malone was hired by Connely, who left for a bigger pay day. They promoted Calvin Booth from assistant and he was given a cost cutting mandate by ownership and he had a different idea of how to run the team from Malone. Those 2 never got on the same page and Malone publicly questioned his techniques
Unless it's the assistant GM or someone already in the organization, wouldn't they think the person would want to hire a coach who shares a similar vision? he did a solid job taking over and Jokic seemed cool with him, so I get it
