Can’t remember what pod I was listening to but they said if the hawks could move off of Trae that would make that team take off like crazy

Imagine if you didn’t have him weighing them down defensively

That team becomes a lot more structurally sound overall

Simons can provide the shooting and scoring trae would without being the worst defender in the league at 6’1

Imagine if nobody had to cover for the PG on defense though

I defended Trae Young as an offensive engine and him being an elite level playmaker/passer which is hard to find but flat out he just isn't that good anymore and has fallen on off drastically since 2021 season

I’ll never shit on his passing

It’s the best part of the game and it’s elite

Outside of that the good does not outweigh the bad

Not athletic, bad defense, no size, not an elite shooter, iffy attitude and possibly a coach killer, etc

But niggas go stupid over the gaudy numbers that haven’t contributed to a good team in 4 years
