Leon needs to fire Thibs and bring in a creative coach that can get Mikail more involved next season or his legacy is on the line.

I'm not even saying thatll work. Mikail might never be good on this team. But Leon needs to do whatever he can to make this work cause if this continues into next season, then Leon needs to go. That's not a move you can come back from if it fails.
 
And with OG there Mikal is the 4th option

So it’s like why the hell did you give up so much?

He had a decent season with the nets but he gave you 19/4/5 as the #1 option

That’s like giving up 6 picks for Coby white who is 3 years older than he is now lmao
 
One moreeee thing…

You can maybe stomach the move if the Knicks are bonifide contenders

But people don’t think they can beat the Celtics or Cavs and the bucks can be argued as well

Either way there’s no sure thing the Knicks get past the 2nd round

I think if you aren't going to have an elite defense OG and Mikal are a bit redundant

White Donte might be a better player than Mikal at the moment too

Knicks can still recalibrate this offseason though, move on from Thibs and try to balance out the roster a bit more

I never liked getting Mikal just because OG was already there

Feel like they just had Boston in mind when doing that which I get

I mean if the Knicks were good defensively there would be no problems

Also idk maybe it’s just me but I can’t let thibs go

I don’t see nothing wrong in what he does outside of not playing certain guys more and some players less

I like what Thibs brings as far as giving your team an identity and some structure but I know he wears on organizations and eventually he needs to be replaced in ordee take a team to another level

Need someone more creative offensively and doesn't have that mentality that it's ok to run players into the ground

It was always an overpay, but it fit with last years team.

Team was super defensive thanks to IHart and Mitch, and even super injured won a lot late in the season and went to game 7 of second round with nothing but broken bodies.

The vibes was fire. So it made sense to add another 19/4 guy who was also an elite defender especially cause you also had the Villanova vibes. Even though it was an overpay, which I said soon as it happened, and said I wouldn't have done it, but I could justify it.

On that team you still had Randle and he could have still got traded for depth etc without fucking up team identity.

But then soon as they did that, they did the KAT trade which made all of the above pointless.

I get we lost IHart, but damn a defensive big who can rebound and hit 70% of his free throws could have been found somewhere with Randle and a pick.

All that to say, this trade was an overpay to start with but as soon as the KAT trade happened, there wasn't any justification for it.

And now Mikail not even playing to last year's level and straight regressed.

Leon better figure it out.

All this said though, the team can get hot and another team can get cold and this team could still make ECF which would buy Leon some time, but it still won't stop this from being a bad move all things considered

This is it.

Last years team was all Thibs identity. Go out there, play hard for 48 minutes, defend, and be super tough and physical and good things will happen.

This is all the Knicks did last year.

Soon as you bring in KAT though, that identity dies.

So now it's time to fire Thibs and bring in someone that can work with this personal of players.

Thibs always gonna get mad love and respect for turning the Knicks around, but you can't give Thibs a finesse team and expect results.

KAT makes this a finesse team.

Take this 26 pick and hope the next one in 2 years is at least top 20-23.

All this is how the Knicks could have did better with those 6 picks and not that the Nets getting anything out of it yet.

Not like y'all gon pick swap with us next year.

At this point I dislike Mikal way more than the Knicks themselves. I’m a proud hater. His struggles and seeing the Garden faithful come to the realization; with each passing game that this nigga they gave their future up for is fragile ego, fragile mind fragile player moves me
