I think it devalues the award and downplays how much more of an impact bigs have defensively than guards/wings

I think if there’s two defensive awards in addition to all defensive teams there’s no devaluation happening anywhere

If wemby is best defensive big and Anthony black is best defensive guard does that take away from wemby’s defensive season and vice versa?

If you're getting cooked on the perimeter and the defender is routinely getting beat having solid rim protection can clean that up

If you're getting cooked on the inside the their is no second line of defense...the offense has already scored
