2024/2025 College Basketball/Prospects Thread

Pound for pound, this is the best episode of any pod or video I have seen this draft cycle.

The guest does a great job articulating my concerns about Sarr and Reed Shepard. He also really sold me on Cody Williams. They also touched on Tyler Smith (who I am really high on) and a bunch of other sleepers.

Is it the best episode because they had the same views as you? Lol but good stuff I’ll try to listen to this

Lol, stop it. I literally explained why it’s the best episode in my initial post.

The host is high on Sarr and Reed. Did a good job pushing back on the guest. Even made an Alex Sarr/Evan Mobley comp that got me thinking. I would easily take Mobley first in this draft class, so why am I less high on Sarr (they have some similarities).

Like I said, great pod.

I got you relax I was joking lol

But mobley was a better defender imo than sarr at the same stage imo

I see the similarities a bit but I wouldn’t say it’s GREAT imo

But that’s good you are onboard the sarr train more. Again I’ll give this a listen

U really think so??? Interesting. I am higher on Sarr’s defense at the same stage.

I thought Mobley would be solid defensively, and he has exceeded my expectations. It’s was his offensive potential I was really high on, and he is kinda letting me down. He is showing some signs percentages wise, but bro needs to shoot more. HOW THE FUCK are u only shooting 0.8 threes per game, smh.

Well when I say that I mean as a positional and maybe strong side defender (I could be wrong)

I think Sarr is alright and the defensive plays he makes are exciting as a shot blocker but idk I feel like his rookie season will be worse defensively compared to mobley’s

I say this with limited knowledge

Mobley has disappointed everyone as far as his trajectory in this short amount of time but maybe they were a bit caught up in the potential in year 1

Idk when I see Sarr I just keep seeing a mix of Duren and like…ayton (with nowhere near the polish offensively in the post or mid range)

(I say this with limited knowledge)

I might be forgetting a name or 2, but of all the returning players, Riley Kugel and Grant Nelson might be the ones whose stocks have fallen the most. Those 2 were getting first buzz last draft cycle, now I am seeing them go undrafted on a lot of mocks.

Riley Kugel is having a terrible season, no way to sugarcoat it. Grant Nelson started the season bad, but has been playing well of late.

They have a few good podcast. funny enough it sounds like you do favor this episode because it solidifies your opinions. Lmao.

One of my favorites by them is the one listed below.

I think Evan Mobley doesn’t shoot as much due to Mitchell being so basketball dominant. It definitely helps them win games, but I think it has stunted his aggressiveness
