Loss of down. If it was 4th down, other team takes over from the 20. Any other down, it’s still goal to go (ex 2nd and goal, 3rd and goal) but from the 20.
But yet if he breaks the plane it’s a touchdown. He fumbles and the ball simply goes back to the 20 and they keep possession? Idk about that? While you’re at it might as well apply the same logic to taking a sack in the end zone.

If nobody recovers the ball after he fumbles it, then nobody gained possession of the ball. Possession returns to the team who originally had it.
Returning to the 20 is the penalty for the fumble. Instead of just having it at the 1.
Nah because there has to be a penalty when you fumble at the goal line. Since if you cross the plane it’s 6 points, you fumble you cost your team points. And the other team gets points.

So if you fumble at the goal line on 3rd down, making your team go back to the 20 for 4th and goal ain’t a punishment?
It benefits the defense most rules benefit the offense.

I'm biased but it shouldn't be banned. Teams should just be forced to figure out how to stop it.
I haven't seen them but apparently 2 other teams tried and failed it. So the play should be removed because no one else has been able to replicate it and the team doing it is very successful? That's a weak excuse
