Look, if your offense scores 33 points and racks up 465 yards of offense, then at least today, It ain’t them.
This near collapse was three things:
1) Zaccheaus REALLY dumb decision on the 2nd half kick-off, running into Boston Scott.
2) Goddert slipping on his route, which caused the pick-six.
3) A SERIOUS miscommunication on defense that allowed Slayton to get that 70-yard bomb.
2 of these things are easily cleaned up. The 3rd I think can be fixed once Slay and Cunningham comes back.
They’re still in the mix; they just need better focus.
