Barca is "Mes Que Un Club" as they put it, and for the Catalans they get guilt tripped into doing things like this. I think they believe it almost patriotic. Remember when Pique, Busquets, Jordi Alba all were taking pay cuts to allow the club to register players like Memphis, Lewa etc? All Catalans and I'm sure that played a huge part in them agreeing to it.
