It doesn't matter if the Aussies were serious or not about the World Cup, FIFA already had 2034 designated for Saudi Arabia. That outcome was already rigged.
You're getting more countries looking at co-hosting or just saying 'fuck it' when it comes to hosting sports events. The costs are way too much and leave too many white elephants if you don't already have the stadia in place.
Yeah no doubt the Saudi's had the W.C up next on the sport washing list...
Im looking forward to England, Wales, Scotland, N.I and ROI doing their joint hosting for the Euros or W.C (I forget which one)...

It's gonna be the Euros, though it's gonna be a sad day for the home nations that don't make it (though England failing to quality for their own tournament would be hilarious)
I think they automatically qualify if they host, though theres some noise about more than 2 being allowed etc just wanna see Ireland in a major competition!!!

Yeah the chances are England would qualify anyways, so it frees up the chance for the other weaker nations...
I dont pay much attention to standings but presume ROI and NI are struggling...
