My understanding was that an RO is where the QB is reading a player at the LOS (DL/LB) to determine who carries the ball
In an RPO the QB is reading a player in coverage (LB/S/NCB) to choose between run or pass. The only time the QB would run on an RPO is if he can't release the ball quickly and runs to avoid an illegal receiver downfield penalty (as the OL continues to block the run)

Naw. RPO is for pass or QB hand off to RB.
a zone read is when a qb reads the end and see to give it to the RB or keep it himself to run

It's a read option, not a rpo. There's no pass option involved, you were wrong. Just like you were wrong when you said he was scrambling.
