2022 NFL Season Thread

"DeMaurice Smith said today that he doesn’t think it’s in the players’ best interests to travel to Indianapolis for a few days of being poked and prodded, weighed and measured, questioned and scrutinized."

And that is why the NFLPA is by far the weakest union in pro sports. That shit gonna happen one way or other. He think scouts and teams should look at a few games tapes and that's it.

Plus the combine has helped hundreds if not thousands players get notice/seen who might not otherwise.

Also if regular joe blow has to get "questioned and scrutinized" and in some cases get a physical for a reg 9-5 job. Then these player can too, who in turn can get generational wealth in return.

That's not what he was endorsing though. He stated that instead they could have regional pro-days.

The issue in his opinion wasn't the scrutiny, it was that the entire process is designed in his view to lower a prospects draft stock.

Which is still stupid. Pro days are the same fukn thing, minus the physicals.

They would just do them there. Really think teams aren't gonna get as much info as possible before they possibly hand a prospect millions............ :niggawhat:

The process has a lot of fat was his point. The slave auction-esque optics primarily. And so for that reason I'm for anything that removes some of those aspects from the combine.

And my point is weather it's a pro day, regional pro day, or whatever. That's not going to change.

And that slave auction analogy is just some hotep talking point at this point.

Weren't there reports that Pats paid Brady through his foundation when he would take smaller contracts for him to "help" the team out?
