The Nets traded Harden and Kyrie for the equivalent of a plate of mac and cheese.

jrue got 3 first round picks. Gobert got 4. Donovan Mitchell got a great trade package.

Anyone who looks at all that says Kyrie for two good role players and 1 first rounder is a good pick is wilding.

Dallas was in the right place at the right time. They were able to trade for Kyrie giving up way less than Kyries value due to Kyries contract expiring. If Kyrie stays in Dallas, this goes down as one of the most lopsided trades ever imo.

I don't think it's fair to put it up against those other trades. All of those guys except harden were locked into long term deals and harden ended up where he demanded to go and a team everyone knew wanted him there.

No one was gonna give up more for a few months of kyrie on an expiring deal. The nets did as well as they could have. Unfortunately they tied their own hands with all the fuckery tho. They happily tried to destroy that niggas value as a player in this league completely (kyrie didn't help himself either) and were gonna let him sit at home and rot if silver didn't intervene. So that's why the return looks mid.

Can't really compare todays deal to those ones you mentioned imo.

100%

But the circumstances that led to this type of trade is why i feel its justified to blame the Nets.

Tsai's bs reaction to the doc was 1. But even after that Kyrie says he wants to resign and wants to be a Net for life, and you offer a star of his caliber an incentives based deal that only pays max if they win a championship?

So in a vacuum, i agree with you that the circumstances aint the same to compare those trades. But when i consider why the circumstances for kyrie trade were what they were, the blame goes to tsai and in turn the nets
