Other than we not showing up at all, not having a striker is going to be the death of us. It still boggles the mind that we didn’t bring in anyone. I have my thoughts on that.

I agree….

Richarlison scored goals to keep you up by the skin of your teeth...

It wasn't rocket science to need a new striker but then that's why I don't get the Maupay situation as I assumed Everton/Lampard must have saw him to fulfil that role (rightly or wrongly and IMO very wrongly).

The only thing making sense to me is that they thought DCL would be fully fit and back to "Ancelotti form" (which was highly naive if that's the case), and a combi of him and Maupay would replace Richarlison's goals instead for this season.

I honestly believe that the board and owner accepted going down and that they felt that they didn't need to spend money. And to not get anybody on loan is a joke. I loved that Simms played last night, but like someone said on Twitter, I would of had Maupay play with him in a 2.

He starts his last press conference (the one addressing the Premier League financial investigation into man city) by saying "firstly our thoughts go out to those in Turkey and Syria who were affected by the recent earthquakes".

Now he starts this one by saying "firstly I must apologise to Steven Gerrard and his family for my stupid comments in my previous press conference"

What's he gonna lean on to look like the good sympathetic guy next conference? 🤔 😂
