Zo at the trade deadline barely had any good trade offers or any at all. Ironically the only trade offer he had was the one we just did.
For a sign and trade to work, the player and his agent has to agree to the team to begin with, so no matter what, when Zo didn't want to be here AND chosen the team he wanted, at that point the Pelicans got back whatever they could to make it work because the number one priority was getting off his potential contract.
Our number goal is to remain flexible and financially responsible as possible. Signing Zo to a long term deal was not in play because he wants to prove he is a PG, now he gets to do that in Chicago. Wish him the best.
