2021/22 NBA Season Thread

Not that I fully disagree with your point of view.

Are you of the opinion that if Simmons decided to sit out without mentioning mental health the Sixers never would've traded him?
Good question

I think there exists a possibility where they try they're hardest to salvage the relationship but still ultimately trade him.

Ben was tired of losing money imo but at the same time, I have to assume they tossed around the idea that him losing money up until AS break was a strong possibility.

The reason I'm calling bullshit cause in his lone year at LSU, as soon as LSU got bounced from the SEC tourney, homie stopped going to class altogether cause he knew he was gonna be 1 and done. Basically he don't like to see shit to the finish

Of course.

You cant call somebody out in 2022 if you they are saying they are having mental issues

You know the bold is kinda common practice right and has been for a minute?

As soon as Melo won the Nat'l championship at Syracuse he stopped going to class cause was done. A few other players have done that over the years.

For the record I think Simmons is a fucking sucka but I just don't fully agree with yall point of view is all.

Of course what? It ain't clear to me what you're saying.

They don't have to call him out on his mental health. There were plenty of other angles they could use to go at Simmons that are all basketball related but chose not to and that is on them.

I'm too lazy to Google the timeline of the events and that would involve me having to look up other things that were surrounding his time at LSU and I'm that invested enough to do that, but I am familiar with that being a common practice

If Ben’s mental health was tied to being with the Sixers and a toxic environment then wouldn’t theoretically a trade to a different place which offers a reset and fresh start put Ben in a much better place?
If there was a history of racism, bigotry, prejudice, etc... Absolutely

But on the surface, it really just appears to be that he didn't want to take ownership of his shortcomings in the playoffs and didn't like they called him out and tried to hold him accountable.

To me, AP, that's not mental health. That's you using mental health to force your way out

Ben wanted out before the mental health thing was even brought up so he couldn’t have used it to force his way out.

lol who you think you are to dictate what contributes to deteriorating mental health for Ben Simmons? You not a player in that organization, you don’t know him, and you aren’t him

while there’s a possibility you could be right, you don’t have the right to say any of this shit lol

People keep leaving out the fact the Sixers have been trying to trade him for close to 2 years now. If not for Fertitta, Simmons would be a Rocket right now, lol.

So. Possibility of getting traded is part of being a NBA player.
