2021/22 NBA Season Thread

The Raptors are really interesting to me....they could easily pivot in just about any direction if they wanted. Masai Ujiri has always maintained that he doesnt want to tank and he doesnt want to be a middiline fringe playoff team competeing for the 7-8 seed.........Right now they're 18th in defense, 12th in offense which puts them 15th in net rating(literally middle of the pack)

Last year was pretty much their "tank season" and they ended up with Scottie Barnes so it worked out...but what the next move?

Im a big fan of FVV, OG, Siakam, and Barnes but Nurse cant run 6.5-7 man rotation forever however Toronto doesnt really have a way to improve their bench without giving up a starter, they have no assets and they have no cap space next season

I said the other day if Toronto had one more high level creator they could be right back in the mix but idk how they can make that happen without trading one of their main pieces

@King Freeman what do you want to see happen?

I wanted to see them tank again but were just too good to get a high pick and teams like the Knicks, hawks, celtics that were supposed to take a leap forward have taken a step back so it's weird.

I kinda hate to say it because I'm grateful we got barnes but having Evan Mobley instead of barnes would have at least balanced out the roster more.

For now we just have to double down on the position less lineups and build that up. Hope we hit on our draft picks and see what we have next year. I think we top out as a play in/first round knockout this year. The foundation is there but I'm not fooling myself.

The organic growth will continue to be there but we really need to hit on our draft picks, free agency this summer to move the needle going forward.

I really enjoy watching yall play with the positionless lineups especially yalls transition defense

Who do think is most likely to get traded if a deal happens out of Siakam, OG and FVV and who would you want to trade if you had to?

I don't think a trade is happening. I think masai and bobby Webster double down before looking to trade any of our big 3. Imo you can't trade any of them at a plus in terms of talent so what's the point.

If I had to say og is most likely to be traded but I just don't see a deal that brings back fair value. He's quietly having a nice season at 19/5/2 per game.
