2020 NFL Season Thread

I have more faith in BB to actually run the ball and help develop Wentz than this FO. People forget before that 2017 Wentz hired a QB guru to help him and the Eagles FO got mad at him for doing that. His mechanics and play have been declining since that year. Injuries played a part, but these dudes don't develop anyone.

He had a good year last year though

We were talking about Jameis being the]/i] reason for the defense getting scored on. While I admit that his mistakes can directly or indirectly put the defense in a bad spot, I’m saying that it wasn’t all him.

Nobody ever said it was all on him. I dunno why you made that jump. Here it is though. ⅝

Same coaches same scheme but the reason for the defense being trash is Jameis? How do you come up with this shit?

I just told you. Turnovers shift momentum, put the defense in a bad position, give the other team's offense more possessions, and don't let your defense rest.

What part of that isn't true, or what part of that doesn't negatively effect the defense?

Keep in mind we’re putting this within the context of Jameis on last seasons Bucs. The context you’re placing the defenses struggle is that everytime the defense was scored on it was indirectly Winston’s fault? It was directly after a Winston turnover? Every. Time.

^^^ You made that jump.

You compared defensive rankings last year to this year. I told you a major difference, and explained how Winston was hurting the defense.

How'd you take that as every point we gave up was because of Winston?

I've told you a few times already.

How can you call last year's defense terrible, and this year one of the best without ignoring what the QB impact?

One of the best?

They had the worse defense in the league the last 5 weeks.
Defense not even good. They are trash and it’s all the secondary fault.

So it was all his fault pretty much.

That's that jump again. I never said it was entirely him. You said the only stat you look at is points allowed though. I told you his 7 pick 6's count in the points allowed number... There's 49 points right there. That's over 10% of the points allowed for the season, and we haven't even looked at the other 28 turnovers.

Panthers game in London he threw an INT on the first play of the game (then threw 4 more, and lost a fumble or 2 as the game went on). Defense held them to a 3 and out, and -2 yards. They kicked a FG. Those 3 points are the defense's fault? He had another INT returned to the 8 yard line that game. That led to a TD...we putting all that on the defense? For giving up 8 yards?

That's why I said if you are calling the defense last year one of the worst, based off points allowed... You're ignoring the QB impact.

I like how you put the context around this. Now give me some context around his Int’s? How many were his fault vs tipped pass, bad route/miscommunication etc. then show me the times when the offense gave y’all leads and the defense let up.

11 tipped/late game out of hand/WR fault

You can dissect them if you want.

That number sounds generous. And I still think some stuff off the receivers hands are his fault. If you throw a ball so off target (too high, too far behind, too far out in front) that your WR/RB/TE can barely touch it, and it gets INT.. I put that on the QB's pass. 3:35 in that video is an example. That was an ugly jump pass too far behind the RB.

Also if we're not counting late/ game out of hand INT's... then don't count those late stats period. Let's get rid of those yards that got him to 5,000 and those late TD's.

Naw, 19 INT's is a lot. And you gotta keep that same energy for all the QB's then. Remove everyone's INT that you don't blame the QB for. Don't compare his "New" INT number to everyone else raw number.
I mean you’re the one using “context” so that context should go both ways.
