What QB durimg the Saban era was propped up and predicted to be elite enough to warrant a 1st rd pick before Tua?

even better what school has a track record of 1st rd qbs that are consistently elite?

And again...the last LSU qb that was hyped and drafted #1 is considered the biggest bust in qb draft history...equal to Ryan Leaf AND he was the catalyst for a rookie payscale.

Practice?! You talking about practice?! lol for real tho. The NFL dont give af about that. So they open the building on Sunday, they play on Monday. So, they get 1 day of practice. Thats what they get for fuckin up, no one is gonna have pity on them.

i never said elite either. I dont think any college can make that claim. High School? yes...college? no...too much parity

hell, you want me to say if the qb go to LSU dont draft him? I mean, i will...b/c by and large, it's true sans Burrow, but you see the huge drop off the program has taken since he left and its only been 2 games. Burrow is the textbook definition of being the exception to the rule. LSU is more known for DL, LB's and DB's. You'll get a good to great crop of WR's and RB's every other recruiting class but you not getting OBJ every year or hell, even Jarvis Landry. I wanted the saints to take Jefferson, but the last WR they took in the first round was who? Meachum out of Tennessee? No...it was Brandin Cooks iirc.

Jamarcus Russell was a good qb, but his work ethic once he got to the league didnt have anything to do with him going to LSU. Bama's qbs for the better part of a decade have been extremely overrated and overhyped. The run game and the defense has won bama all those titles since Saban has been the coach. My bigger point was the dig at OU but Bama caught a stray. I still contend that Bama's qb's are pedestrian af and if you are looking for a building block, i wouldnt look to them to get that QB. I think Tua will also break that mold like Burrow did, but tell me, you think Hurts is going to be a stud in the NFL? This is me honestly asking. I know he not with Bama anymore, but im asking you what you think about his pro trajectory.

Bruh you proved my point. They have been overrated or overhyped but always labeled as “game managers” until Tua.
None of them besides Tua have been as bonafide 1st rd qbs so there is no “hype” for them at the next level.

As far as Jalen is concerned he might make some plays and be of some value cause he takes care if the ball..but he will be a career back up...he is not accurate enough and doesnt go thru his progressions fast enough for the NFL.

and my point remains...there is not really a school that has a claim as “QBU”

you maybe can make a case for a conference having more success but individual schools? Nah.

By college analyst/talking heads. Yeah

Not by NFL guys tho. Tua and to a lesser extant, Jalen Hurt are the only Bama QB's that were considered top rd draft picks.
