Nah I know you’re talking about around the all’s star break...Funny enough that hot shooting Jan/Feb he had he wasn’t a positive on the court in net rating but maybe that was more to do with lineups
i dont read too much into analytics b/c if you are dead set on trying to prove a point, you'll find any analytic to support your position even if it's the "wrong" one to take.
im not gonna look up +/- and all that b/c i tend to go by the eye test which can help and hurt a case you're trying to present. He was a matchup problem for a lot of teams when they went small and they started feeding him the ball in the post. He was taking advantage of those matchups which help provide some scoring and scoring opportunities if they took that path to the lane away b/c he would kick it out to a shooter or a cutting teammate.
The problem with the team as a whole was roster substitutions due to players being out at inopportune times. There was really no depth so it forced Gentry to play him when he would've sat if the roster was deep.
Nico i think is still on a rookie contract or some shit, so his signing should they decide to go another way wont cripple the team.
Fwiw...i liked Mirotic >> Nico and i think they were hoping he would be Mirotic but it just didn't happen...at least in his first NBA season so far.

im definitely in the opposite camp on Didi, but a small summer league sample size not enough to project how he will be at the pro level. I just knew NAW was gonna tear shit up after his SL debut, but found himself in and out the rotation. Played much better in the bubble, but i still like his ceiling as a backup.
Im expecting whoever they bring in in this hypothetical situation will do what it is they are good at doing. Duncan not gonna forget how to shoot just because he's in nola, but if the coaches new goal is to play inside out, then i expect him to make catch and shoot 3s when teams try to double Zion in the post.
