Why not if it applies to everyone?

prevents the top programs from hoarding talent

Alot of the difference is the fact that many of these top programs over sign just to keep guys from going to the competition.
70 scholys mean you cant hoard AND you gotta be very dilligent and injuries matter

From a competitive standpoint I agree. We're seeing eye to eye on that point.


It's just that if you take 15 schollies away per program that's less kids getting a free ride. More players gonna get pushed down to FCS, FCS guys pushed to d2 etc. And we know schollie money gets more scarce the more you go down. The optics on the educational side would look a certain way.

I can see that trickle effect happening but I think it will be minimal compared to the parity it would create including HBCUs being able to get more and better talent consistently

there also needs to be a way to break that stigma that you cant get to the pros if you dont go Power 5 FBS

if you got NFL talent they will find you

a lot of guys put themselves in terrible situations cause they think they need to be at a Power 5 FBS when that is just simply not true
