2019 NFL Off-Season Thread

It was only a handful of teams that could have signed him after everyone spent their money. New England was one of them
How much money can a nigga ask for when it’s October and he’s still unsigned? Any team could’ve had him if they wanted him. NO signed him only after someone got hurt (don’t remember who).

Those are Tom Brady stats and those aren't elite numbers and 2006 he was 30. If he was really all that great he would have had better number before then

You still skipping over the fact that they had a opportunity to sign him. But, they didn't because he's not smart enough and the already did that via Chad. So it's not going to be another example of them doing that. Obviously, they learned and so now you're not going to see that

I think you can throw in a top 10 QBs and get the same results. I just don't understand why you say Tom Brady is the system but you had Chad Johnson. He struggled in new England with the playbook. Tom Brady didn't come up with the playbook or produce the offensive philosophy.
New England uses smart wide receiver who understands route combination and coverage. That's not Tom Brady job and the wide receiver they do use are just average in ability but smart with x's and o's

1st off, theorically..EVERY QB plays In the system

2nd NE doesnt have a particular system..they adapt to the personnel they have..(documented facts)

Look at how they played when moss was there to how they play now..well Last year - they turned into a run heavy offense cause they didnt have the wide outs..

Tom Brady has played with 3 diff offensive coordinators for his career

Charlie Weiss
Bill O'Brian
And now Josh McDaniels

All three had different approaches to the game.

And lastly...You can say Brady is the system cuz he expects his receivers to read what he reads for defense and break off their route if need be... hence why he works with selective few In the off season..

Chad Johnson failed because cincy allowed him to do whatever he wanted...basically run one or two particular routes..in NE he was expected to read defensives..and well be a football player by knowing your playbook.

Pollard is stupid and said that ish for click bait purposes

And you cant just put any QB in NE and think he it will work cuz just like @5th Letter said...Cassel did it and didnt produce the same and that's with the same record breaking offense a year before..

other QBs like to play a certain way and dont want to change the way they play...

Hence why A.Rodgers had an issue with McCarthy cuz he wanted to play his way..

Hence why big Ben wasnt running QB sneaks cuz his big ass didn't want to and blamed it on his coordinator...

Alot goes into what QB can play in a teams offensive approach..that's why so many back ups fail when they go to other teams..

Shit just ain't no plug n play..

Not everything has to be a stat to tell you what's going on..

Did you watch them in the playoffs?
Look at that chargers game, look at the chiefs game and look at the superbowl..

They went heavy w the run...purposely..especially against the chiefs cause they knew they were physically bigger than KC at the line..

Their offensive approach about to change again..cuz they drafted and went with all bigger, physical receivers this season..per Brady's request..

Vs Chargers. Brady went 34-44
Vs Chiefs. Brady went 30-46
Vs Rams. Brady went 21-35

41 passes a game in the playoffs

As the rest of the NFL is throwing out aerial assaults like we’ve never seen before, Bill Belichick is once again bucking the trend. The Patriots are employing a run-first, smash mouth offense designed to control the ball, keep the opposing defense guessing , and keep their opponents’ offense off the field. Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead and James White have absolutely gashed opposing defenses this postseason, racking up 155 yards against the Chargers in the divisional round and a whopping 176 yards and four touchdowns against the Chiefs in the AFC title game Sunday night. New England converted 13 of their 19 third downs in Kansas City, thanks in large part to the running games effectiveness on earlier downs (and Tom Brady, of course).
They wouldn’t be doing this if not for the incredible play of the Patriots’ offensive linemen. Those gigantic individuals are Trent Brown, Joe Thuney, David Andrews, Shaq Mason and Marcus Cannon, and they have absolutely bullied their opposition into submission over the last two weeks. Under the tutelage of offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia, they have become an absolute force this postseason, opening up holes for their running backs while also keeping Brady standing.

Still threw the ball more than he ran.

Damn near 50 times the first two games.

I know what I saw and the stats back that up

You can think whatever you like..

The article just proved exactly what they were doing...and exactly what I said their approach was...but dont let facts get in the way though.

The article was opinion at its finest.

But the game and the sheer number of passes says different

Bruh...the article had stats and facts to back up everything..what are you talking about...what dont you understanding...

Ok Brady threw the ball 50 times but yet they beat n kept KC and the chargers off the field by running the ball..go back and look at the games

The commentators even mention it.

Honestly..go with your thought..senseless to debate sometimes...
