Ok y’all, I think I got it broke down... Jay has had many transformations in his 20 plus years on the scene. As he got older we’ve seen these incarnations set trends & make enemies. Yall forget Crazy In Love came out in 2003….2 years after Blueprint, bringing out Michael Jackson at Summer Jam and arguably the biggest hip hop battle at the time…

The Mr. Knowles nonsense only came during that weird period between MCHG and 4:44 where he was literally only getting traction on the charts singles wise when she was involved. Anyone trying to say people was on that kinda time before that period got some revisionist history.
