With all the talk about companies no longer participating in DEI initiatives, are there any you are going to seriously boycott?

There's been some very interesting conversations on Bluesky about this and it seems like people are really going to speak with their wallets.

I personally called Target yesterday to cancel both my debit and credit card with them and told them it was because of their decision regarding DEI. These corporations have made it so that only a few control the majority so you in essence are going to end up supporting one or more depending on your personal situation.

But to answer my question, I'm going to try my hardest to not shop at a lot of these places but the one place I guess I'ma keep is Amazon. I guess it's a case of the devil you know.

But thoughts? Who are y'all letting go? Who are you keeping?

I mean at this point which companies arent pieces of shit.

I never really fucked with Target like that so thats not a huge loss.. Amazon has their issues.. Walmart has their issues...

We need a list of companies that AINT terrible and exploiting people at this point if such a thing even exists.

@Inori

I'm personally going to continue shopping local for groceries and I'm going to try and go to the produce stands and seafood places when possible.

Everything else is gonna have to come directly from the retailer or Amazon🥹

WhatsApp gotta stay for the groupchat. 🤷🏿‍♂️

I don't use anything else besides Amazon but I'm part of the customer rewards program over there.

All these companies are own by the same entities

As in the ones that don’t and do, all are owned by the same people
I understand the larger point you're trying to make and while this isn't 100% factual, again, I understand your overall sentiment

I addressed that depending on your lifestyle, you will more than likely won't be able to cut everyone off cold turkey, or I heavily implied it

This thread is for trying to find viable solutions to replace what you can

That’s the thing, you can’t, in fact the narrative that’s placed crossed all social media platforms, in of itself is a marketing strategy to spur consumer spending that’s currently at a lull because of inflation

It’s a play on emotions to get people to do what they logically know they shouldn’t, rather than continue the current state of non spending because inflation is high.

That would then affect the bottom line and eventually bring prices down. But in order to not have that happen organically. These entities do things like this. It’s all just a marketing ploy, the answer is not do nothing different because it doesn’t matter.
