Do You Only Consider Black People Born In The States Black?

This is facts
Where I’m from you are not really given the intricate details of the AA experience

U know about the slave trade Martin Luther King Malcolm X

Then u skip directly to black entertainers and sports stars

That man isn't wrong. Theres a serious misunderstanding of the history of Black people in America. They're also not wrong that the misunderstanding goes both ways and it's fueled by white people trying to either satiate their white guilt by painting Africans in such a childlike helpless image or by racist white people who keep those images of Africa being on big open uncivilized jungle.

Yea if I ask my ppls back home what they know about the AA experience they d just repeat the super basic shit.

That's why I get so irritated when AA wear dashiki during black history month.

Like they completely skip over the entire history of black people in America to wear tribal patterns of "Africans" like each nation in Africa is all the same.

They have no idea what region, county, or tribe their designs come from. Nor do they care. They just think it's suitable for "black history" when it's ironically skipping over all the black history we supposed to be placing the focus on.

While I hear and think yes all black people need more education all around

I do think 🤔 we underestimate the goal of dividing the black community across the globe

I think many AA saw being African as something to distant one's self from. The programming of seeing Africa as jungles on TV and not too mention the feed the children videos. Growing up the Image and all around feeling about being connected to Africa as an American black was conflicting.

So u did ( still do) have a phase or large group reject the notion of being African, strictly based of what they perceived Africa was.

And so the attempt to connect or recognize yes Africa and it's people are apart of black Americans cultural heritage and history.

Like I remember hating talking about black history when I had started going to the white schools. Which in schools even majority black don't go deep enough and you get alot civil rights history

Even though my parents taught me cool history it was still always this survival story or somehow chains and debauchery was involved. As much as slavery was apart of the U.S fabric( so it has to be talked about). That shit does something subconsciously about seeing people who look like you in chains and being beat. And then u got all the other kids looking at you like , this your people. It's a crazy experience if u think about what your asking black American children to take in. And that shit was so different when we talk about white genocide.

I never forget having to read that book Ann Frank and watch the movie and go to the museum as a field trip. And then some white kid daddy would come and tell his Jewish ✡️ stories and shit.

When we talked about Africa in was mainly Egypt. But the books still made it a point to make them pale skinned and somehow not black lol . Like u knew okay these people arent Like us blacks here in America.
But these people are tan colored, they not calling them black but they kinda look like me. And I always hung to the Bible verse talking about Jesus had bronze feet and hair of wool( basically negro afro 😆)

But the point is , any attempt to change your programing is good, even if ignorant or wrong, your mind is open to truth.

We don't understand the degree of programming that other cultures have done and then we did to ourselves.

And I think niggas got so anti African recently because on twitter African and Caribbeans joke back and we get in our feelings a lot forgetting that we did use to bully them niggas a lil bit. I mean my area not diverse like big cities but I’ve seen Haitian niggas say when they first came they got bullied bad and Africans and I think may of them were confused on why Black Americas didn’t like them.

But them I heard stories of us being looked down upon by them.

And in reality is simple divide and conquer.

And also I think worldwide we compare ourselves to white people in every way

I just dream of some Wakanda ish type of Black experience like not asking for perfection but tired of worldwide black folks on the bottom and having to beg non blacks for simple rights. And it’s gonna take a slew of internal work

And then we gotta counter the dumb shit my daughter think she part Cherokee from her mom side. I seen both her parents and grandparents. And I don’t see no Natives. I get in early 1900s in some states they put natives as colored but it’s no record that I’ve seen officially

They should know more, not just about AAs, but all New World blacks who are descendants of slaves.

They should be more concerned to know more about what happened to the descendants of the people some of them sold into slavery.

It's a matter of the kind of reckoning with one's past wrongdoing the way that all people who have done wrongdoing should experience.

All too often, many of them (the ones in Africa) only seem interested in us when there is tourism money to be had.
