Kenny Omega is heading back to All Elite Wrestling, and sooner than later.

Last month, Fightful Select interviewed Kenny Omega, and shortly after reported that he would be headed back to AEW soon. In addition, we were told that Omega was planned for an AEW return before he left for Japan for his Wrestle Dynasty show against Gabe Kidd.

We’re told that Omega is supposed to leave for Japan either January 1 or 2, and will be around for Wrestle Kingdom, even though he’s not publicly booked for the show. However, his AEW return has been teased on TV. Fightful Select reported last week that his return was expected by the World’s End PPV, and this week we’ve heard that the active plan is for him to be at that show, though we’re not sure in what capacity. Omega has not regularly been on the road with AEW in 2024 while sidelined with diverticulitis.

Over the course of today (Tuesday), PWInsider.com has received emails asking about rumors of WWE executive Lee Fitting being reprimanded or in hot water with WWE over the report that came out earlier this week inThe Atlantic breaking down misconduct allegations that led to Fitting exiting ESPN before being hired by WWE.

The crux of the reports, which we are told. originated with Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, are built on the foundation of Meltzer stating that WWE removed Fitting from the WWE Raw credits on the episode that aired on 12/23. The problem with that is it would be 100% incorrect. WWE would have had to have Fitting listed in the credits of Raw to begin with and a PWInsider.com check of episodes dating back to the first week of November showed that not only was Fitting not listed in the credits, there were no credits to the show, just a graphic at the end listing the WWE copyright. So, that report was not based on any factual information whatsoever. ]

Fitting was listed, as he usually is, at the end of WWE NXT's broadcast tonight.

PWInsider.com is that WWE was aware of the Fitting situation at ESPN at the time of his hiring. We are also told that, thus far, as of this writing, there has been no known fallout of the article's publication within WWE.

Good. Yall laugh but imma still support the brotha Omos, just like all the other black talent in WWE. Hopefully him going over there ends up being very beneficial for him.

Omos was dope to me. He had a natural cool to him that will make him a beast when he improves in the ring. I can see him having a huge resurgence if Japan works out.
