Who is taking it back and who are they taking it back from?

It took a Kendrick vs. Drake beef for niggas to finally fight for the "culture"? The same culture that elevated Drake to the top for the last 15 years? Kanye? The way the culture has treated female rappers?

We watched the culture line up and attack Meg on a serious fucking issue and there wasn't a whole lot of fighting for the culture going on then and Tory Lanez is Canadian too, so where was all of the foreigner energy from niggas fighting for the culture then?

Also, this beef in particular was hijacked by corporate media way before this latest album. We now have corporate entities trying to capitalize on the energy posting MUSTARD captions like they aren't the very people that niggas are supposedly taking the culture back from.

I'm not being obtuse. I understand exactly what people are saying when they're talking about taking the culture back. I just want niggas to explain who has it and who are you taking it back from.

Also, who is the hip hop authority because it's very clear to me that hip hop culture lost it's identity a long fucking time ago, so to see niggas using this Kendrick vs. Drake beef as a moment to fight for the culture......looks corny.

The artists making music that is more culturally aligned are out here, while mainstream is mainstream you don't have to listen and can really find your niche with all the different ways music artist can put up their own music.

Radio and the powers to be have always had individuals who are promoted or get all the attention. But as a music fan of cultural hip hop if u truly want that you have access to it.

I think Kendrick and Drake beef just put on front street what everyone felt or knew

Everyone was expecting Meek Mill to "win" against Drake

But when it turned out how it did. Imo it kinda said that you don't have to be from the culture to be successful and respected.

It's like the Tyson and That white boy... like we were excited for Tyson to fight but not at the Jeopardy of staining his boxing legacy.

So the feeling of culture vs industry plant I think has always been there. And Kendrick isn't the only artist that can represent or feels inclined to speak on the things he talking on. He the only one being promoted.

I would love to see KDot collaborations with some real conscious rappers...but I dont know how much it would go. The people don't Like all that revolutionary shit. They wanna dance and have one liners

Beef is never about who is the better rapper or bars.

No different than politics being about policy.

Or war being about honor and courage.

Beef always been about narratives and the narratives about Drake always been against him and his fans always pointed to the numbers.

Kendrick said "Duck your numbers, I don't like you. I hate you.

Lol. I think people are just now finding out that the world is ran by sentiments and narratives.

Kendrick's narrative about Drake was more compelling and what people already believed about him and that's why K.Dot won.

Same reason why Nas beat Jay Z, he didn't rap better than Jay Z. He told a narrative about Jay Z that people already believed.

Jay Z said " I make better albums than you and I got more money than you."

Nas said " You use money to overcompensate."

And the entire image of Jay Z died and his own mother made him apologize for Super Ugly because it was true.
Didn't read it. I don't go back and forth with bias minds on subjects. There's nothing in it for me.

This guy is suuuuuch a baby back bitch!

Drake escalates Kendrick beef and accuses record label of firing allies while boosting his rival

Exclusive: Drake is upset with Universal Music Group’s alleged business practices, not Lamar’s lyrics, a source told The Independent.

And had a Spanish nigga saying nigga on stage for that "Not Like Us" concert event.

Called Drake a pedo but had Kodak on his album who has SA charges.

Called Drake a dead beat, bad father but teamed up with Future.

Told us Drake wasn't to be trusted but idolizes Ye despite all the things he's done.

The shit isn't real.

RIGHT?!?!?!

didn't he defend R. Kelly against Spotify?

Now this is some hoe shit that just might be the nail for Drake. You can't egg on a battle then do this when you get washed.

Not only did they expect Meek to win. Meek, Funk Flex, Drama, and most onlookers expected Drake to start to fade away. I've said from the beginning of the year, those people who didn't see Drake get "eliminated" by Meek but at the same time didn't count what Pusha did because it wasn't someone they wanted to do it or the stage for it.

The one and the same. Some black woman hate Dr Dre for his past except when he's teaming up with Dot. They gonna cheer their asses off for him when he pops up at the SB but wrote think pieces on how Dr Dre shouldn't be celebrate during his own performance.
