I don't like either one because I don't care for country to be honest. I will say that the Stapleton song sounds like a country song where the Shaboozey song sounds like one of those goofy rap/country hybrids that they were trying to push a while ago. Maybe the country purists that give the awards don't like that shit. Jelly Roll used to do that Hick Hop shit, but when he won all those awards, it was some pure country shit though slightly more listenable.

Black folks need to create and promote their own cultural institutions to the level of prestige to rival historically White institutions.
But you can't do that without a level of elitism that most Black folks won't accept and support.
Thus you get situations like Jay Z, a grown ass men, lobbying for Beyonce to get Album of the Year while receiving his own award.

This ain't even really that though. No power comes from receiving a CMA award. If there is any power here, it would come from the money being made in the industry and I assume he's getting. This just comes down to the desire for recognition. To some extent black people have to learn how to do them like they do us. Get what we can from them, and fuck how they feel.

Yeah I get everyone is in their own music bubble. And if you listen to Shabozey songs when he first started , it wasn't country.
But his song has been super popular. Same time they Not Like Us was going up for all of Hip Hop. Bar song was going up for country/pop music fans.
They weren't playing it or giving any airtime/news on hardly any "urban" stations. Also I think most news was drowned out by Beyonce.
But this what he sounded like before his country music "switch " . You can hear the change on the last clip. mean it's kinda giving Black Post Malone ..... and the White folks in country music mad this negro came over and made a damn hit. But the Hit was inspired by a Hip hop song....lol . He even brought out J-Kwon to performed it with him on BET Awards. I think that's when blacks folks were like who is this.
