This is why you don’t run government like a business. You can’t rely on the DC talent pool alone to staff these jobs.

And I find this really funny for two reasons. Number 1, these are supposed to be tech dudes so they should know technology is good enough to allow remote work.

Number 2, it you want the most qualified you have to look outside of DC. I thought that was their argument against DEI, that you’re not getting the most qualified.

The Dems are already setting themselves up for failure. They are running around talking about the party is too far to the left and they need to be more moderate. Policywise they are basically already moderates. If they go anymore to the right, they will basically be Republicans. Next time around, our options are going to be MAGA and the New Republicans (formerly known as the Democrats).

I have no clue why they just won't come to the conclusion that they need to embrace the coalition that they have instead of trying to pander to group that hasn't agreed with their policies for decades.

I still dont think even the R's will allow them to do this. Also the timeline for this is 2026 so the dems will have some control back by then. Thats why they want to make this a court battle so bad.

I think it's the money in politics to be honest. To pander to their coalition, they would have to go against some of those people that are paying them (e.g., the Israel lobby). They can't do that, so they are constantly trying to pull in people who will vote for them without demanding those left wing policies.
