That and voting becoming a sign of where your morals stand to. When politicians started running campaigns on morals instead of policy then it became lines in the sand being drawn and people being forced to juggle just what they were and weren't comfortable being around

I don't get why you're so invested in speaking up for the Democrat party. Neither of them care about us. Cube's whole point is that he was willing to work with whomever was willing to listen. The idea we can only talk or work with Democrat politicians is crazy and only hurts us

Read again. My posts ain't about defending the Democratic party. I explicitly state they don't care now and didn't care then. I then said Cube could've got the same idea off in 2024 by going to Trump again with more success and way less push back.

What criticism has there been other than he was stupid for thinking that Trump would take him seriously? That's it. He was attacked for simply talking to Trump and the Reps. If you said people weren't just being attack dogs, then give me a substantive criticism that doesn't just boil down to people being mad that he tried to break bread with the other side.

I wasn't talking about 2024 with the second paragraph. I think he could have played that in 2020 if Trump had actually won. The big thing impeding him was the backlash. Trump wouldn't have wasted his time doing any of that shit if he knew that black people were against him.

He was criticized for more than that. It'd be more intellectually honest to say all you saw and/or chose to focus on is what you keep mentioning or even that the reason given isn't good enough to you. But you can't rightfully say that's tue only criticism he got because that's factually inaccurate. Youre already speaking with a preconceived notion because you keep defaulting back to the same thing regardless of being told otherwise. Ive told you in multiple posts now where some of the criticism both before and after came from. You just keep saying "no it didn't". So as long as you're not even opening up your pov to the thought that maybe there was more criticism out there that you either did see or just dont wanna acknowledge you're just gonna keep saying the same shit.

The criticism had less to do with people defending Democrats and more with people being shocked somebody with Cube's resume and history didn't realize what he was being used for. If you don't get that then youre either willfully missing the point or don't really know Ice Cube history in the shit he spoke about in his music and interviews his entire career

We're going in circles. You keep on accusing me of not opening my mind to what you're saying. I understand what you're saying. I just don't agree with what you're saying. Cube wasn't used for anything. Trump, FOXNews, and others promoted the fact that Trump met with Cube, and Trump did meet with Cube so that was fair game. The only reason that Trump could spin that as tacit support for him from "the black community" was because Biden didn't meet with Cube under the same conditions. If Biden had, Trump's promotion of that meeting wouldn't have meant anything. So again, why were people madder at Cube than they were at Biden for not taking the 1 on 1?

As far as Cube's history, that's just a stupid critique. He ain't been the "Fuck the Police" dude for decades now. A lot of people know him more for doing goofy movies moreso than his music. That aside, this idea that people were mad because he wasn't adhering to his old anti-government/anti-corrupt authority stance is nonsense. You know as well as I do that if Biden actually met with Cube and pulled the same shit as Trump, we wouldn't have seen the same outrage. You yourself have admitted that you don't think Biden would have taken Cube seriously either. So, if people would have been ok with Cube being used by Biden but not Trump, then what else should I conclude about their reaction than it being Dem protectionism?

You not agreeing is fine. Just don't distort what happened in terms of why some took issue with the optics of what he did. And the reason the reaction was more than Dem protectionism is because I'm saying there was more than 1 reason people were upset which you seem to not get. You're trying to lump everything under one umbrella. I'm not disagreeing with you in that some of the reaction was protectionism. What I'm saying is there is also another reason some issue as well that's got nothing to do with Democrats and more to do with Ice Cube himself. You can choose to keep dismissing it but that doesn't mean it's not actually there

You say other problem was with Ice Cube himself. I say that's BS. If Ice Cube did the same thing with Biden that he did with Trump, I believe 99% of the outrage would have gone away. There might have been a remaining 1% bashing him for even trying to work in the system, but those people are idiots and their input doesn't really matter anyway.
