I agree with this. But restrictions still have to be made.

Here’s the thing….NO one is going to come out 100% happy in ANY of these situations

Republicans are either too radical or Democrats are either FAR left…it’s going to leave disappointments no matter who does what
Which is where I think both sides went wrong. Republicans should have been against elective abortions but allowed any doctor the ability to do one if they deemed in their medical opinion the mother’s life/reproductive system was at risk or the fetus wasn’t viable. Sure some doctor’s would game the system, but then you investigate and prosecute.

What's far left on the abortion topic? I mean this guy Trump thinks the other side is murdering babies AFTER birth

I agree with this @Infamous114 , let’s not shame people that are open to learning.

I honestly didn't know, and I like to peel back the onion on stuff and understand the truth of things. Plus it makes for good back and forth.

No gotcha moments or anything, I disgree with somethings you and others may state, vice versa, but facts are the thing that I like to stand on when it comes to everything.

I just wanted to understand the whole women rights need to be protect, cuz, 1. I'm not a woman, and 2. Kamala ran on it, and 3. Black women in particular are upset that Kamala lost and they feel that Trump is the boogey man, which I think they are getting their info from white feminist who voted for the dude Trump.

Did all that cheerleading in public only to go in the polls to vote for Trump

He did

But I guess he lied since everything he says must be a lie lol

A lot of issues surrounding abortion are based on WHY and WHEN

Appreciate you keeping it 100, you stated your stance, but you have keep it real and transparent, a lot of you.

In some states I read up to 20 weeks in another I believe it was 24, is the "when" really important?? again I'm not a woman, so I'm asking what is the big issue that women have with the "when" and "why" parts of this situation?

I mean look at Florida. More than half the state thinks weed should be legalized and there should be abortion rights. Yet the amendments don't pass cause they don't meet a threshold. How is that democracy at work?

Yeah i thought people learned this from 2020. Latinos as a voting block is a very complicated thing. You're dealing with so many different cultures and political histories that inform their povs in the US that trying to get them all under one pov is damn near impossible. We can't even agree on speaking Spanish let alone actual political decisions
You are talkin to sesame street b. Alot of people have the same elementary commentary as the white people as they throw latinos in the same box regardless of origin ages/religion status etc etc

Kamala was really running on restoring the rights that were granted under a Supreme Court decision. When the Supreme Court reversed that decision, after it being on the books for 50 years, the issue went back to the states and red states started banning abortions left and right.

If I’m not mistaken, Texas has a heartbeat law that says if there’s a heartbeat you can’t abort the baby under any circumstance. Lady was having complications, doctor couldn’t abort. She got an infection. She died.

If democrats had majority control of congress and presidency, they could write a law putting those protections back in place. That was Kamala’s angle.

So yes, it was Trump’s fault and Kamala was trying to fix it.

After a certain period the baby is pretty much developed which brings to question as to when abortions should be done if necessary

Do you really think people should have the right to abort their baby whenever they want for whatever reason?

Where are the restrictions and held accountabilities?

If a woman is raped or dying is one thing…but most women with sense would see a doctor long before the pregnancy is even in question if rape were the case

It takes about 12 weeks to know if you’re officially developing. How long does it take to take action…up to the final months???

There has to be balance and moderation on BOTH ends

This is what I stand on.

Why in your imo didn't the dems run on this stance??

Edit, you answered it in post 11, 848

Women didn’t have an issue with when and why. Most states had limits on the when, usually 20 weeks or something like that. And nobody was aborting babies after birth, that’s murder.

Issue came when republicans wanted to ban it outright. Only evangelical republicans cared about abortion for the most part.

“You are a Democrat. Even the New Black Media Mafia niggas on here can see that. “

lol so why should I go back and forth with you?

If these are real and true claims and Trump lied then I’ll take that to the chin for what it is

At least you can identify a liar……you’re party is full of them

The thing is, give his history how could be deluded enough to think he was ever telling the truth about Project 2025?

That's in Roe v. Wade

To balance women's rights to privacy and state governments' interests in protecting mothers' health and prenatal life, the Court created the trimester framework.[127][128] During the first trimester, when it was believed that the procedure was safer than childbirth, the Court ruled that a state government could place no restrictions on women's ability to choose to abort pregnancies other than imposing minimal medical safeguards, such as requiring abortions to be performed by licensed physicians.[7] From the second trimester on, the Court ruled that evidence of increasing risks to the mother's health gave states a compelling interest that allowed them to enact medical regulations on abortion procedures so long as they were reasonable and "narrowly tailored" to protecting mothers' health.[7] From the beginning of the third trimester on—the point at which a fetus became viable under the medical technology available in the early 1970s—the Court ruled that a state's interest in protecting prenatal life became so compelling that it could legally prohibit all abortions except where necessary to protect the mother's life or health.

Here's my question, is it really Trump's fault, I mean outside of the 3 situations, if the issue doesn't fall under those 3 items, rape, incest, or complications, then you got to keep the baby is my stance,
Why would you say that it's trump fault?

I like the 3 strike rule myself.

No state allowed an elective abortion at any time during a pregnancy. It was usually up to 20 weeks or something like that. And most abortions happen so early you take a pill and it’s a wrap.

It wasn’t an issue until republicans got control and wanted to ban it, and along with it ban contraceptives in some places as well as Plan B pills.

I mean look at Florida. More than half the state thinks weed should be legalized and there should be abortion rights. Yet the amendments don't pass cause they don't meet a threshold. How is that democracy at work?

Think of this scenario:

You walk into a room of 100 people

You ask them “who agrees that drugs should be legal”?

60 of them raise their hand and say YES…the other 40 folds their arms and say NO!

Would it be right to have the other 40 to submit and comply since their the losing number?

Unfortunately this is what separates a democracy from a republic

Democracy looks at hands being raised…A Republic has to acknowledge how things work for everyone despite peer pressure

Because the states aren’t doing that. Did you read my example of the woman dying?

Is there racism and misogy involved to a certain extent? Yes. But the results are showing that people deem the Democrats the party of the elites and for megadonors. You invite multiple people on stage who are out of touch with what's going on with the average American. They're not affected by rising grocery prices or the housing/rental market.

Republicans had a bunch of rich people on stage doing this too. So either it's a bad strategy or as I said before...People want to hear the shit they like from the people they like. Because if it's insulting to parade rich people around Dem supporters how is it also not insulting to have them on the Republicans stages too? Lists of literal billionaires were out of people giving money to Trump. Elon on stage doing whole cheer routines. If that's not out of touch then what is?

When you say republicans, are you speaking republicans having it banned on a state level?

It was in the state's lap,

If so, should women be more so upset with their state reps rather than Trump? or am I missin something, again, I'm not caping for the dude, I'm just trying to understand their plight little bit better and make it make sense to me
