I don’t doubt that, but it seems like they built the roof before they finished the foundation.
If they want to put a product out that can compete with madden in some way, it would’ve been better for them to focus on the football part, more than everything else.
The everything else at the end of the day gets drowned out by the fact that it doesn’t have nfl content.
You can’t out content EA your way into pulling a healthy amount of intrigued players, but you can definitely out gameplay EA.
There a 3rd person games that have better run mechanics, and physics than madden and that’s not even the focal point of those games. They have gotten better over the years but it should be way better than it is considering the assets at their disposal.
I wonder would it still be considered a “simulation” by contract standards if it only allowed you to be one person on the team.
Like “the show” is that considered a simulation? Could a product provide you NFL content that wasn’t all that madden does but just kinda like superstar mode?
That way a team can just focus on the game play aspect and not have to have such a hefty burden to provide everything else
