Country music as is currently known was/is a by product of the Blues originally created by Black folk in them Southern plantations during Jim Crow....


However maybe Beyonce and her husband shouldn't be award baiting or complaining for (white) musical awards anytime they don't win the top awards...


Like I said they can claim ownership of BET and make it for 'us' ... Jigg did the same with liquor when Cristal made derogatory comments about Hip-hop artistes many years ago

im aware of the origins
i’m also aware of who controls the genre now

and those gatekeepers won’t accept beyonce like that. they allowed her to perform years ago, received backlash from their base, and learned their lesson

I don't know. Artists like Beyonce and Taylor Swift have huge followings. They are going to do numbers no matter what they put out. It doesn't mean that what they are putting out is good. I don't listen to country music, so I don't know if the album is good or not. I do know that even outside of country music, people just act like Beyonce should be snatching up all the awards just because she has a rabid fanbase. In reality, there are people that just make better music.

Well let's wait for the Grammys then... And see if she'll be lucky this time


All they (Jay & Bey) gonna do is moan how they've been snubbed again... On a record or on some award stage


Or maybe just keep it simple and make good ol' RnB/soul music

Smh...why should they do that? Are you asking other artists who do albums outside their genre to keep it simple and stay in their lane?

Beyonce...and every artist has a right to do whateva album their creative minds sees fit. And if her album is the most successful album...then yes it needs to be acknowledged. Just like ALL the other successful albums.

They can do whatever genres they feel like no problem... Hell, didn't she dabble into Afrobeats some years back?

If this recent album was a 'fuck CMAs' as has been acknowledged here why are we discussing the fact she's been ignored? LOL

My issue is the complaints about musical awards bodies or organisations not recognising her craft and giving her top awards... Like these awards generally tend to favour White artistes predominantly...


JAY-Z has loads of Grammy awards but still complained about being snubbed for 4:44 and then spoke up for his wife whilst collecting a Grammy


Seems like an obsession at this point
