Wu-Tang Clan rapper, Method Man, will star in a new BET scripted drama helmed by legendary director, John Singleton.
Meth will star alongside actors Giancarlo Esposito, and Mykelti Williamson in the upcoming drama “Rebel.”
According to reps for BET, “Rebel” centers around a police officer who is forced to leave the force after being under an intense internal affairs/criminal investigation for shooting her partner, as she was trying to stop her partner from gunning down her little brother.
“Rebel” eventually (played by Danielle Moné Truitt) becomes a PI struggling to bring her brother’s killer to justice, while dodging dirty cops who are out for revenge.
Method Man, born Clifford Smith, is slated to have a major in the series, starring as “TJ,” who is Rebel’s ex-husband.
Other actors lined up for the series include LaTanya Richardson, and Brandon Quinn.
“Rebel” is slated to debut on BET on March 28 at 9:00 p.m.
The latest role for Meth wraps up a busy 2016, which included roles in “Luke Cage,” “The Breaks,” “Paterson” and the T.V. show “Difficult People.”
Method Man has also starred in movies like “Belly,” “Cop Land” and his movie/T.V. series with fellow rapper Redman, “How High.”
