Shaq Faces Backlash For "Inappropriate" Comments Towards Angel Reese

She don't have to be your daughter though to call out sucka shit.

I gotta agree with Beta on this: In it's full context, what he said made sense. Should he have said it??? Ionno... I wouldn't have, but that's me.

Apparently she has no problem with posting her body online for dudes to oogle at, but for some reason she didn't think Shaq would be one of them and that makes her uncomfortable now that she knows he's seen said pics 'cause he said something about it, which is absolutely idiotic.

C'mon lonious b

I ain't even trying to be down on her. She can do what she want.

I'm being sincere. I don't get the logic these chicks have. Why do they feel the need to take pics like that? What do they think the people who see those pics take from them? Do they really believe there's no link between those images and the sexualization they say they experience? I get that Shaq is her mentor, but he's still a man and by many accounts a grimey one at that. We can all agree that he shouldn't have gone down that road with what he said, but again, what else was he supposed to take from a pic of her with her ass hanging out? Does it really make sense to you? It just doesn't to me. I got daughters. I wouldn't let them portray themselves like that without pushing back.

Y'all getting awfully close to she asked to be raped because the way she was dressed

No we're not bro. Pretty much everyone agrees that Shaq's comment was inappropriate. No one is even saying she asked for that comment, so it's crazy to claim people are anywhere in the proximity of suggesting she's asking to be raped. Ya'll gotta stop misrepresenting stances like that.

It’s certain people out there where you go I want to hear from Johnny Johnson on so-and-so because he always makes the most astute breakdowns of things that make the most sense. Or let me listen to this rapper because he’s one of the best at explaining certain things. Shaquille O’Neal is a 16,000 foot oaf and to me, he made that breakdown because in his mind, it makes the most sense due to the fact that he speaks to men in certain circles about the subject. I genuinely don’t believe he said that to be evil. I just think that he has a different approach because of who he is and the lifestyle that he’s been accustomed to.

In my mind, I think his math was like well men want to see sexy women, or women that dress a certain way, you have no problem dressing that way, why not do it professionally to make money. They’re making it seem like he was saying hey Angel, I love the way your ass fit in them jeans won’t you play with your twat for me??

Everything ain’t rape or diet rape. He didn’t need to go there, but I believe, he did because they was flowing in their conversation.

Fuck what he's talking about, the moment she told him to chill and stop that's what he should have did. You dudes always championing fuck shit. It don't matter what any woman wears, the moment she tell you to stop why would y'all keep going? Then wonder why so many sexual harassment shit is out there

Who's arguing against that? Real question. I haven't read through every post in here. Are there really people on here saying what Shaq did was ok?

She should expect a sexual reaction from every man in her life? Regardless of the nature of their relationship? They’re powerless against it?

If you don’t unequivocally agree with this statement, then you should quit pretending to not understand the backlash.

You seem to be suggesting there are no safe men that a woman can be around platonically once they have shown a glimpse of sexuality.

Certain relationships you have with people should keep you from at the very least voicing sexual thoughts/opinions about them. That just exhibits a lack of self control. Especially when being told to stop in the moment it's being done. Posting a pic, wearing a sexy outfit or whatever doesn't give license to violate her personal level of comfort when she says to stop speaking to her a certain way. That seems to be something people are missing.

I hadn't seen any of those, but that is messed up. I also agree with you 100% that once she made it clear she wasn't cool with it, it was even more egregious to keep going.

I didn't say I don't understand the backlash. I said I didn't understand what reaction chicks expected to get from pics like that. You are conflating different points. Shaq is fouls for taking it there with a chick that's young enough to be his daughter, looked up to him as a mentor, and expressed that she didn't like the subject.

To answer your questions though, no she shouldn't expect a sexual reaction from every man in her life. That said, it ain't like Shaq is her dad. He's a old nigga that took an interest in her cause she went to LSU. He's also a dude that has been known to lack integrity when it comes to sex and women. So nah, the creep shit doesn't surprise me,

Once again, I think ya'll are having arguments with other people on here and looping me into that. I'm not arguing against the backlash against Shaq. I agree 100% with everyone saying he was wrong.

I just don't understand what women expect to get from posting shit like that. What's the up side?

Man stfu lol. Like you really can fathom why a woman would be creeped out by a man older than her pops saying sexual shit.

Is it a hard concept that women want to look sexy but don’t want to hear creepy comments by important people in their life. If your wife posted a pic of yall anniversary dinner and somebody she don’t even know says something sexual about it she would have the right to be offended. A woman don’t gotta dress like a nun to get simple respect.

This is how Reebok is advertising her shoes. Beyond Shaq, I wonder if she recognizes what she is saying to her young fans. I know Clarke doesn't have a body to sell, but she and Reese became popular for their play on the court, so who is pushing Reese to sell sex rather than her game alone? I know Reese is a smart person, but I wonder who is helping her market herself.
