Yes... Aikman WAS a bum. Numbers don’t lie.
Calling him a “Game Manager” is too generous. Michael Irvin was a first ballot talent who got held back by mediocre QB play.
His nickname wasn’t “Playmaker” for nothing, he was bailing Troy bum ass out all the time. His numbers would’ve been way better with a decent QB.
Literally any half decent QB in that era would’ve been a 3 time SB winner with that team.

Troy Aikman was the Terry Bradshaw of the 90s. He was the qb ofban all time great team. The 90s cowboys were the last of the pre salary cap dynasties. They were loaded at every position and they had possibly the greatest o line in NFL history. Throw Emmitt in the backfield, Irvin outside, put Novacheck at te and Harper opposite Mike and you're unstoppable. Put me behind center and my out of shape ass could at least get to the conference championship game. Aikman's job was the same as Bradshaw's job just don't fuck it up. And to his credit he didn't.
People seem to forget that there was a qb competition in Dallas. For a couple of years Jimmy Johnson wasn't sold on Aikman and Steve fucking Walsh was taking his playing time. Aikman was the #1 overall pick and Walsh was taken in the supplemental draft. Whenever the #1 overall pick is being challenged by a guy in the supplemental draft something is wrong.
Aikman's claim to fame was that he didn't make many mistakes. Let that great line do their job, Hand it off to Emmitt, and gave Irvin a chance to catch the ball and don't turn it over. Replace Emmitt with Franco, Irvin with Stalkworth or Swann paint the helmets black and you have a Terry Bradshaw clone.

Yeah bradshaw had swann and stallworth as his wide receivers also plus bradshaw td to int ratio is 212-210 aikman numbers wasn't even that bad 165-141 I think plus aikman had a runningback who took alot of pressure off of him too and not to forget aikman threw more yards than bradshaw and he has a better completion percentage than bradshaw.....bradshaw was with a team who had one of the best defenses the league has ever saw

Haha ya I remember. NFC South hasn't fallen off. Been in the NFCC game 3 of the past 4 years (different team each time). The year they didn't, they sent 3 teams to the playoffs. Bucs are just bad, Haha.

Saints and Falcons are the only 2 teams I see as true threats in that division...carolina offense will not be the same their defense is good but inconsistent and the bucs are trash lol....oh our divisions play each other this season so this will be interesting

If the falcons can stay healthy we will challenge Brees and the 'aints. Cam should be healthy this year so anything is possible in Carolina. And maybe I'm crazy or didn't watch enough football last year (which I probably didn't) but I don't think the bucs are as bad as most ppl think. I could be wrong about Tampa but I think the NFC south will be another shoot out this year.
