Mark Jackson blackballed due to his religious beliefs on Marriage and Homosexuality

Big Lurko

Im not here to read more than 2 lines..
According to Andre Iguodala, his beliefs during the time as Coach of the warriors got the owner(who was gay) in his feelings and destroyed his career as a head coach in the NBA and is currently being blackballed due to his opinions on gays being able to get married and Homosexuality in general.

That's a pretty crazy revelation that was supposedly an open secret as to his "disputes" with management we kept hearing around the time he got fired. The owners then formed a voltron to keep that nigga out. The way he never got another shot was always odd as fuck with no explanation.

believable

my church/pastor is openly tough on homosexuality period

its a trip because there's obvious gay people that still go there

anyway some people are just straight up and down about it when it comes to religion, no matter what the "world" or "majority" says

Ohhh it makes sense now, he is a minister and supposedly pushed church trips on the team also.

assuming he had no ill intent, he was literally serving his purpose in advancing the kingdom

a lot of people would, and know they should, but they're afraid of the push back

Funny how the word of god is supposed to be absolute but folks want to change that word to fit the narrative of how some of the world wants shit to be now in this day and time.

Religion ain't supposed to work like that. The word of god ain't supposed to bend and fold with the pressures of secular society.

People wild as shit to follow a pastor who just goes against that cause it will bring in more parishioners and tithes.

Not a religious person but I look at any pastor who preaches homosexuality is ok a bullshit artist. I understand that christians are supposed to love everybody but that love doesn't mean accepting what the bible called an abomination.

I wanted the wizards to hire Mark Jackson over Scott Brooks

It's tricky. You kinda have two extremes. You have the people that you're mentioning that basically go as far as to say that homosexuality is ok. You also have the other side where people claiming to be Christians try to attack and legislate away homosexuality. Both sides are wrong. That's not really how it works. Homosexuality is a sin but it's the same as any other sin...fornication, adultery, gossip, lying, etc... So these people that claim to be going so hard against homosexuality because they are standing up for Christianity are usually full of shit. They just don't like gays. A lot of those people don't go nearly as hard against people that they know commit those other sins. At the end of the day, Christians are supposed to show love and share the gospel. It's not our place to try and punish people for sinning. It's also not our place to try to beat up on and bash other people for the lifestyle they choose. At the end of it all, they got to answer to God for their actions, not us.

The bible explicitly calls homosexuality an abomination. It doesn't call fornication, adultery, etc an abomination.

Leviticus 18:22 - 22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 - 13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Although the adulterer is also to be put to death. If the punishment for both are the same I guess you can say abomination and sin ain't different.

Man I've pretty much been saying the same thing.

If you actually followed the NBA this stuff is pretty well known. Mark had some players who were not religious that felt like he chastised them a bit if they didn't attend services.

Supposedly he also clashed with the media, front office ,and ownership group about a myriad of other things and it was reported that he got into it with some of the media and front office members wanting to attend pre, during, and post game practices. He said coaches were spying on him for the front office, reportedly tried to turn players against one another, and let's not forget him being extorted for cheating on his wife with a prostitute.

All this stuff happed around the same time which is a lot of ammo to let a person go. Of course some if not most of it might be overstated or just out right fabrications, but it still is a lot for other teams to sign up for. Especially with him being just an okay at best coach.

Surprised he was able to return to ABC/ESPN if that was the case.

That's because he isn't black- balled or even ostracized for his actions by the NBA. Lmao. If the league ( or any big sports league) doesn't want to work with you then you aren't covering the league ask Kaepernick.

The truth of the matter is, Mark wants to coach ( if he truly wants to coach) certain teams or he hasn't went out for many interviews. I haven't heard much about him wanting to coach since returning ( which he did damn near immediately after leaving the Warriors) to broadcasting and the few times I heard about positions he may be linked to, it was speculation from media personalities like Stephen A. Smith saying he should coach the Knicks.

From a Biblical standpoint, an abomination is just something that is against God's design. Sin in general is any action that goes against God's will. Jesus and his apostles give explicit commands not to lie, fornicate, commit adultery, or any of those things because they are sinful. Christians live under the new covenant as introduced in the New Testament. Nowhere does Jesus or anyone that follow him point out homosexuality as being any worse than any other sin. Homosexuality, fornication, adultery, lust, etc... are all lumped under the umbrella of sexual immorality.

That debate aside, any Christian who thinks its his job to police the world is just wrong. Jesus himself didn't do that so why would any of us believe that's our job or right?
