Is "Queen" a compliment or insult?

@Soul_Rattler do you get offended by the words male or king?
None. I have no reason to as I'm aware of the context and etymology of the words.

But I also have the slight privilege of living in a world where men have been the architects of society, and thus create and define the names and titles attributed to things, Male, female, or asexual.

It’s blatant pandering, but hey I’m not gonna dissuade anybody from doing it if they think it works

But it’s probably not gon work
I've already had 3 people insinuate that I'm insulting women by asking if the word is a compliment or insult.

Now I'm pandering?

Point still stands that if she don't fuck with you...any thing you say is condescending.
You: Good morning....
Her: Do I look like I need you to say good morning?

But if you know she don't fuck with you why not leave the shit alone?
I've never understood why niggas do this. Like why say anything to her knowing that?

It’s just like anything else it can be used as an insult or a compliment. It depends on the context.

Growing up in the 70's in a Pro-Black household, I get it. Whitey pretty much taught us that we were nothing more than savages in Africa and we're the descendants of slaves. "We were kings and queens in Africa" was a way to tell the people "Look, we were far more than what whitey is telling you, this is what we really were in Africa. We were scholars, we ruled Spain for 1000 years and brought it culture and architecture, we had a far more advanced understanding of math and science, and we were Kings and Queens of our lands".

It was a way to instill a sense of pride in ourselves, in our African roots, where before we had none.

Today it's so overused it's a fuckin punchline. Racists now use it against us when they make memes talmbout "We wuz kangs n sheit" 'cause it's so over used.

Shit doesn't even have the same meaning it used to.

Anyway, I refer to black people as king or empress in informal settings. Had no idea it could be interpreted as condescendin'. Seems a case of "when bein' woke goes too far" * if it's even a thing at all*

*Edit

Mans just need to be comfortable enough to admit they hate women and only like fucking them so long as they're submissive and don't talk too much and are relatively incapable of hurting their feelings lmaooooo.

Never really saw this as a big deal. Nor did I take it as a negative thing to say. Not sure why any one would think like that.

Seems like a case of folks lookin too deep into it tbh.

I'm specifically talking about the word "queen".

Empress is another term altogether.
