Watch Berserk: the Golden Age first. It has three arcs, but they go in order. It's on Netflix. Netflix also had a series that went into what happened after the Golden Age. It doesn't seem to be there anymore though. I heard it wasn't received well. I'm not sure why though. I thought it was good.

Don't tell her not to see it. The anime is super dope, but you're right, the ending is super fucked up. That said, you don't really need to read anything past the ending to have some closure, remember:
The story starts off with guts in the turned world killing demons. So you kinda know what the result of the madness is. The arc really just explains out it gets to that point. The only thing the anime left hanging was that it never introduced Skull Knight, so you had no idea how Guts made it out of the final part alive.
Anyway, yeah Griffith is a dope as character, but his turn was just...wow. The story is actually similar to GoT in the fact that it's largely some non-supernatural political/war type shit for most of the series and then drops some crazy shit on you towards the end.
It's T-A-R-G til I'm D-E-A-D. Anybody I talk about the show to irl will know who I bangs with and ima force them to choose sides cuz it's fun.
But other than that fuck them theories. Unless the finale goes completely left, I'll enjoy it and I'll leave with no major complaints. In 5 yrs when ppl look back on the show I anticipate none of this hating ass energy will be kept and GRRM STILL wont be done with them books.

On the flip side, I think people are overlooking the bad writing because they've invested so much into the show. They don't want to admit the show they love so much is letting them down.
I'm sure that's the case for some people. Some ppl just like to complain cuz ain't really nothing else going on throughout the week. Some ppl have agendas and only watch the show because of certain characters and if their faves dont do what they wana see them do, then they write the show off as trash. Some ppl do have legitimate complaints but most dont.

I can see you saying that about shonen anime (DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, etc...), but anime like Berserk is pretty different. It stands out I think. It's not all about fighting, at least not the power levels and special moves types of fighting.

You cant just make it the new throne without the ppl acknowledging youre in charge and the North, Vale aint gon do it. With Lil Baratheon being in love with Arya, so Stormlands out along with the Iron Islands so nobody going to recognize her as sitting on the Throne.
