Parents...Are you out here still piercing your son's ears in 2018?

I got mine at 21. Parents were to so religious they wouldnt let me do it under their room so when I went on campus at college, I went and got it done. Wore them all thru my 20s and most of my 30s. Haven’t worn them since last year though

Indifferent. Surprised my daughter aint get keloids when she got hers. Never had them myself.
 
Never been about that ear ring life. Wouldn't let my son do it either. He ain't doing that shit while I'm still taking care of him either. That shit goes for tattoos that can't be covered up as well.

Tats are different because those are permanent. With most folks if they're not wearing earrings then you won't know they have their ears pierced. A tat is permanent and I know plenty of people with tats who started getting them when they were like 16...and I know not 1 person who doesn't regret their first tat they got when they were in high school and got it covered or try to cover it on their own
 
My mom lied about my age to get my ears pierced. I think you have to be like 9 months or a year old or something and I was only 6 months...

I don't have a dog in this fight but I think it's funny how parents make decisions like that...clothing, hair and all that but will act like you shouldn't have a say on a piercing on dying your hair or something cuz you're not an adult. Like you can mutilate and manipulate my body as a baby but soon as I wana have an aesthetic I gotta be grown? Foh lol

Earrings for my son right now is an absolute NO for me. His daddy and I discussed it. If he’s 16 and wants them, then cool. We can do that.

As for girls, if I had a daughter. I’d probably pierce her ears at a young age. I love seeing little girls with little earrings on. I actually look at some of my girl students sideways when they don’t have earrings on.

It’s weird but it is what it is.
 
Got mine pierced in 3rd grade because my friend who had a ratchet ass mama got his pierced. I begged my mom for it.

My mom is white and was cool with black folks so what they thought was cool she was cool with. I was just a follower the same at the time.

Got the little Playboy bunny and everything. Got so much attention at school though I let that shit close up after the 6 week healing period. Never got another one.

If my son wanted one in his late teens, that's on him. But before probably about 16, nah. He ain't mature enough to make that decision.
