He didnt even use it in a way to be offensive tho. He was referencing a historical point.

Headline makes it seem like he was out there just callin black ppl niggers
Shouldn't said It @ all...I heard U not even Black ???
Based on what I read, I'm not really sure why people are making a big deal out of him saying the N-word. His statement was that "Colonel Sanders called black people n******." That's not that big a deal. Him using that logic to justify his actions is bad. What I think was bad was him just randomly talking about CaCs dragging black people from trucks. He didn't seem to have much of a point outside wanting to point out that CaCs from his area liked brutalizing black people.
Not a Big Deal ?

It's not. He didn't call anyone the N word. He wasn't making some general statement about blacks using the N word. All he did was point out that another fast food mascot called black people the N word. He did not overtly use the word in a malicious manner. Now, someone already suggested that he was probably trying to be sneaky with it. That's fine to believe that, but it's just speculation. Also, I'm not saying this because I think he's not racist. My point was that him randomly bringing up blacks being brutalized just for the fuck of it should be seen as more offensive than an innocuous use of the N word.

The fact that he brought that shit up AND said the word are equally offensive and concerning.

I disagree.

I can you see you making the argument that him trying to excuse his bad actions by pointing out that someone else used the N word is stupid. I'd agree with that. I don't see how it's offensive, but I recognize that we live in a world where everyone is offended by everything, so fine you got that. However, how is him using the word in a completely mundane way offensive or concerning? Are you trying to say that black people should be offended by white people using that word not matter what the context?

So if a white person says something like "The word N***** is the most vicious word in American history," should we be offended and concerned about that person too?

On your first point.... dont do that... this aint about "everyone being offended by everything". There will never be a time where a white person saying nigger will not be offensive. Period.

To your second point... in my mind...any white person that claims to be an advocate of black folks... they wouldn't say nigger/nigga in the first place. They would know how much hate and pain that word carries coming from white folks and would have the decency to just say "the N word".

But this dude has shown on numerous occasions that he is NOT an advocate of black folks, black rights, black opinions, black anything.. so you cant even try to give him the benefit of the doubt as saying that shit "innocuously"

I stand by this being an example of people being offended by everything. Again, if you're just going to ignore context and be offended by the use of the word no matter what, that's some petty shit to me. Whether they say nigger or N word, you know what they are talking about so what fucking difference does it make? As long as they aren't using the word to attack or disparage black people or to claim some general familiarity with blacks that isn't granted to whites, why would you be offended by simply hearing the word?

I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt anywhere. His use of the word is innocuous by definition, period. He did not use it to attack anyone. He did not use it with any blatant maliciousness. You can try to play your Professor X games and guess what he meant if that's what makes you happy, but that's just your speculation and not the facts of what happened.

We all agree he's a racist. We all agree that the general sentiment of these responses were racist, or at the very least, insensitive. I'll just leave it there.

Louisville evaluating naming rights to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium

University of Louisville president Neeli Bendapudi said Thursday that the school is evaluating the naming rights to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium as fallout continues over John Schnatter's use of the N-word during an internal conference call.

Schnatter, the pizza chain founder, resigned from the school's board of trustees and as Papa John's chairman on Wednesday after the story came to light.

Bendapudi spoke to reporters in Louisville after a board of trustees committee meeting Thursday.

"We haven't had a chance to discuss it formally but yes, certainly we are aware that there is a lot of interest in this and we are hoping to come together to discuss it," she said, according to WDRB.com.

The naming rights deal for the football stadium is unique, because the school's deal is with Schnatter, not the Papa John's brand. The deal provides that if he leaves the company, Schnatter can rename the building. His current deal with the university runs through 2040.

On Thursday, some current Louisville football players tweeted that they wanted the Papa John's name off their home stadium.

Already, the mayor of his hometown of Jefferson, Indiana, had Schnatter's name removed from the town's basketball gym and ordered his likeness taken down from the city's Wall of Fame.

Meanwhile, Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins issued a statement Thursday to say they are "immediately suspending our relationship and promotions with the Papa John's brand."
