I was watching this comedy clip about Gen X, and it reminded me that back in the day kids could go to the store and buy cigarettes as long as they said it was for their parents. And then when stores got in trouble for doing that, the way they fixed it was to say that kids had to have a note from their parents saying that the cigarettes were for them.
