I know Rise is a sequel to the Ash movies as Ash is in the audio on the record that they find after the Earthquake.
I actually watched a video on it before bed last night. From what i gathered:
Evil Dead (1981) is the beginning
Evil Dead 2 is a sequel, but this is Ash with a Deadite infected mind and is why theres slapstick humor and certain events dont line up from the first film as far as Ash's friends from the first film who should have bodies out at the cabin and a couple of other things.
Army of Darkness is a direct sequel to ED2 and was actually the original sequel to ED1, but the studio wanted another film before AoD.
Ash vs Evil is the Continuation of Ash
I think it is Sam Raimi's short film called "Into The Woods" that was test footage to convince the studio to budget the first evil dead that shows 3 necronomicons
Evil Dead 2013 is a new entry featuring a different necronomicon in a cabin in Michigan i believe.
Then Evil Dead Rise is is the first movie to feature the 3rd and final Necronomicon. "
Bruce Campbell is featured in an uncredited voice-only
cameo role heard in a recording on one of the phonograph records from 1923; Campbell voices an unnamed character who forewarns the priests of the dangers of the demon resurrection ritual, and demands they destroy the book. Writer-director Cronin stated that he had Campbell voice this role intentionally, stating that he considers it to be a time-displaced
Ash Williams."
Evil Dead Burn is a Spin off from the Rise entry
Evil Dead Wrath is coming next but it is supposed to be a prequel to the First film.
