Red Dead Redemption 2 I bought in 2018

Dark Souls complete edition in 2020

Music Soul Child was really the final physical album I purchased back in 2008

I was thinking how much I like J Cole albums and I don’t own any of his. I have not bought a physical album in almost 20 years. With video games it has been about 6 years since I bought any physical game

I’m going this week to Target to purchase D’Angelo’s VooDoo on vinyl.

The time before that was Maxwell midsummer nights pt2…

And holy shit that was an awful album

I have CD's and vinyl on the way but they won't get here for a couple of weeks (one is coming from fuckin Italy).

I posted these in the other physical media thread from my last haul:

Wow you guys are still purchasing physical media today

That’s great

Yeah, you always have it and it'll always be playable as long as you take care of it. Record labels, publishers, and movie/tv studios can't take it away because you own it.

I see so many complaints almost daily about what folks can't watch anymore on whatever streaming service they had because they either got rid of the movie/show, moved it to another "premium" service offering of theirs (i.e. Hulu Live), or made it unavailable in your country but other countries can still view it. But if you have it on VHS, VCD, DVD, or BluRay you never have that problem and I think people are starting to come around to that fact. Same for music, there are entire artist catalogs that aren't available on streaming platforms, and indie artists have been pulling their music in protest 'cause they're getting fucked over on the money, but that's not an issue if you own a physical copy of it or even an mp3/flac/ogg copy.
