Nah, he's just boring.

I ain't saying I don't like anything from him, but he's not entertaining and that's what music is supposed to be first and foremost. People gotta stop acting like he's the only rapper ever to put thought in their raps.
 
Lupe my nigga but I've always thought he could've used better beats. A lot of his production does actually fit the tone of his message but some of the beats aren't that easy to digest upon first listening
 
The shit started because dude baited Lupe into the conversation.

Dude made a video on YouTube a lil while back about Lupe and how being lyrical doesn’t work

Lupe joined his live and asked him what his problem was with him

And dude pretty much baited him into having an argument about Lupe’s supposed issues with Kendrick.

The YouTube nigga knew what he was doing and what was going to go viral, which is the narrative that Lupe is jealous/obsessed with Kendrick.

Anybody with an above 3rd grade education can see what the fuck is happening but yet again, niggas play into shit by posting clown shit to incite folks who are half informed and/or have an already negative perception of Lupe so they can add on to the fuck shit.

Shit is weak as fuck but as we see and WILL see, it will always be the same niggas who will repeat this pattern.

Lupe was never going to be Kendrick. That's not label's fault. His style, subject matter, and personality are the reasons. It's not really about who is better or not. Lupe is just not a rapper that would have ever resonated with the masses. He's a weirdo to me to be honest. How can you be so proud of not dumbing down your lyrics but also be jealous because you don't have the spoils of supposedly dumbing down your lyrics? It doesn't make sense.

He’s made some drastic career choices that hindered him but to pretend his label didn’t fuck him over is absolute revisionist history lol

Lupe wasn’t always extremely abstract in his lyrics and music that came way after the fact

I'm not saying that his label didn't screw him. I'm saying that whether or not that happened, he was never going to be on Kendrick's level. He never had any of the traits that Kendrick has that make him popular. I'm not saying Lupe isn't a good rapper or shouldn't have fans, but he's never been the guy that was going to take the world by storm.

I don't follow any of this enough to even know what the narrative is. I'm just going by how he's moving. Like I can see with my own eyes the things he's doing and hear with my own ears the things he is saying. If it's not jealousy, why is this dude engaging in a one sided battle with someone who doesn't even acknowledge him?

There is no drama between Kendrick and Lupe.



Kendrick did the Control verse. Lupe spoke on the Control verse in SLR.

The only time there was any real issues was when Lupe felt that Kendrick was biting his original Drogas Wave cover art with the cover art of “All The Stars” for the Black Panther soundtrack and the “kung fu Kenny” aesthetic seeing as how Lupe is the one who is into martial arts for real and all that.

Everything else is fodder

Bruh, Lupe downplaying Kendrick's greatness is obvious hating. How much context do you need to understand what he's doing when he says "There are 100 unsigned artists better than Kendrick."

I know ya'll dudes feel the need to cape for artists you like. It's fine, but just because we don't feel the same way about your heroes doesn't mean we're being manipulated by narratives.
