I want to be excited for this game, but I played KH3 and I was completely lost because they made all those side games on Nintendo DS and everywhere else canon to the games lore. The worlds were awesome, but the story made no sense to me because i had no idea who everyone was because they apparently had been involved for years and I just never saw their introduction.

KH3 is what made most people jump off board of the entire franchise because it was nonsense lmao

Between that and what you said about them having the handheld games be continuations of the story that made things hard to keep up with

I started watching videos on youtube trying to catch up on the lore and some of them shits were like 3 hours long. Just said fuck it, I aint playing this till the end lol

Then you gotta factor in the gap between most people’s last game in KH2 and KH3

And then the gap between 3 and 4 is just about 8 years

It’s very easy to not care lol

I remember I beat KH1, didn’t play chain of memories as it was on gameboy and booted up KH2 and was like who da fuq is this guy?

Plus they rerelease the game so many times, I stop caring about it. I still like KH1 over 2

KH is weird to me. The current director's reason for getting rid of the FF characters was that KH has enough original characters now that it doesn't need the FF characters. That's all well and good, but a big part of the appeal of the KH series from the beginning was the merging of the FF and Disney franchises. I'm not sure why he thinks you can remove half of that from the equation and not hurt the appeal. Sure there are more original KH characters, but how many of them do people actually care about?

Yeah removing the FF characters was stupid af.

I loved having Cid in the game in the first one controlling the airship. Running into Cloud. Fighting Sephiroth who was rightfully difficult as all hell. At least to 12 year old me. Now they got all these original characters nobody even knows who the fuck they are because theyre introduced in some weird spin off game
