But it’s his birthday today!

Harden is one of the more durable players of his era. 12 seasons over 70 games 2 under 60. Tmac had 7 seasons over 70 and 5 under 60. Wade 7 and 4 respectively. You can't ignore that based on your original statement. Harden has always come to play. "Half-assing" it is crazy.

While I agree he isn't better than Wade. He wasn't surrounded by the talent wade was. He did more with less in his time with Houston than tmac did with his and has more to show for it.

And what do you mean an era of inflated stats?

I'm not really addressing Harden's disability. My issues with him are that he's committed himself to not even trying to play both sides of the ball. He has a history of not showing up in pivotal games. And he's got crazy bad stats like the whole 30+ games with more turnovers than FGa. I'm not saying he's terrible player. I do feel he's overrated though.

Today's stats are inflated. That's not really debatable. More 3s and higher pace lead to higher point totals than in some other eras. Less bigs in the paint has led to more rebound for guards. More loose requirement for what is credited as an assist means more assist totals for some players. Etc... Etc... There's a reason we routinely see individual players get more triple doubles in a year than the league did 3 decades ago, and it isn't just that players now are more skilled.

Who's over rating him tho? It's just you trying to downplay his career.

It is that players are more skilled today lol. Tf? Thats a fact. Players are way more trained and experienced in their youth than players 20+ years ago and they will be 20+ years from now.

You yourself said you agree that Wade is better. So if you got people saying that he's better than Wade, by your own stance that would be overrating. I'm not downplaying his career. I'm not just ignoring his deficiencies, which seems to be the case for those that praise him. He has been one of the greatest offensive forces we've in the league over the past 10 years. And he's be almost as worthless on the defensive end. You can't just ignore that.

It's really not. Ya'll gotta cut that shit out. Ya'll claim players are more skilled. Then why can't they go two plays without traveling? Why can't they set screens without moving? Why do so many lack a post game or are incapable of throwing a decent entry pass?

I'm not even saying that players aren't more skilled now. I do believe that the average player now is more skilled that the average player 30 years ago. That's more because 30 years ago the league had low skill roles like enforcers who wouldn't get a run these days than anything you named. I'm pretty sure you'd say that the players that played during the Deadball Era were more skilled than the 80s players. Well guess what, scoring and efficiency were a lot higher in the 80s. Does that mean 80s players were more skilled. No, it was because the style of play and rules in place back then allowed them to run up the score more. We're seeing similar things now. Again, this isn't really debatable. Adam Silver and other execs have already admitted that they intentionally made changes to highlight offense because they believed that's what fans wanted to see.

Who is saying he's better than wade? Who are people?

There's perception and reality. Yes he's come up short in big moments in the playoffs but he's been there repeatedly. That gets lost in the narrative. He doesn't miss the playoffs.

Him being "worthless on the defensive end" is a shit take. If you actually watched him in okc or through his rockets run you'd know that isn't true. Niggas age.

Wade vs Harden is a common debate. If you've never seen it, I don't know what to tell you.

And FOH with the second part. I've watched Harden step to the side and let people drive past him at every stop but OKC. His defense by and large has been trash. ANd you got to be an extreme Harden dick rider to say it isn't.

Nigga, try reading to undertand rather than to throw up gifs. I never said that the average player today wasn't more skilled than the average player in past eras.

If you don't see the difference between what I actually said, and what you're claiming I said, I don't know what to tell you.
