COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

But you’re claiming there’s this big uprising and mad black people are going to sit out if the don’t get reparations.

So if that doesn’t happen in mid-terms or 2028, would that make you wrong?

I answered your question. You asked me if there is a massive black turnout, and the Dems win or something, what would I do. I answered

Now assuming this happened, then I would be wrong

Now let's flip it. We gotta look at the tail's side of the coin

If there isn't a massive black turnout, and the Dems lose the mids and 2028 like the did in 2024

Would that mean you would be wrong?

I can say, that the energy is that black voters are not feeling the Dems, the Dems have no plan and black voters, some want something for their vote...reparations as you have been hearing

So i am leaning on that.

Yes it would mean I was wrong if Dems lost because of a massive number of black people sitting out. And I’d admit that your stance could be a likely reason. At minimum it would be more likely than mine.

And if that happens, I would hope that those who sat out made that message clear and it was received by the democrats.

We only disagree on not voting and allowing MAGA to have control of the country. We want the same things, just disagree on strategy.

Explains so much

What @Knock_Twice is saying, when you really think about it, is Repubs can do anything they want they want to black people -- from undercutting their voting power, disproportionately firing them, crippling the enforcement of civil rights laws against discrimination, blocking their promotion in the military, etc. -- but if Republicans and Democrats are both unwilling to grant reparations, then they are equal. Doesn't matter if Dems would oppose/not do all of these other things.

And that is just incredibly dumb way to look at it.

(Here I'm putting aside my suspicion that he secretly supports the Repubs.)

Let me clarify my position

I do believe there was a subset of people who were influenced by this but not to a long where it would sway an election

We call those people... retards. They typically don't vote anyway so you can safely disregard them.

True but it adds to the whatever perceived confirmation bias they have to begin with because they are so easily influenced

That's cool. But what's interesting is the Russian disinfo narrative is much stronger than say articles like New york times talking to black folks in Milwaukee who sat out, voted trump or 3rd party bc of literal policies tied to the Clinton's that had a negative effect on them or people in their families. I feel those had a stronger sway on the election outcome of 2016.

I hear you. Knock only can cast 1 vote, no need to trash me. Just like you can cast only 1 vote. Sure in.
Mines isn't.

It'll be a lot of undecided voters
