COMMUNITY Critical Race Theory, Woke Ideology & DEI Hysteria Thread

I hope they get rid of it. Not for the racist reasons they do, but I do hope they get rid of it

You fucking idiot. They're not removing it to put something better.

They're removing it so that NFL teams can discriminate without any oversight and there's nothing anyone will be able to do when 100% of the HCs are white.

YOUUU fucking idiot, it's not working. There are 3 black head coaches now. There were at least 3 for 8 of the 10 years before the rule was put in place over 20 years ago. Of the current 3 Bowles was an internal hire basically appointed by Arians, so he didn't even fit under the Rooney role requirements.

It has led to plenty of black coaches being disrespected and getting their time wasted by going to interviews for jobs they have no chance of getting. It's led to black coaches earning an interview, but people dismissing what they've accomplished and writing it off as a team just meeting the Rooney Rule.

If there were a bunch of black head coaches I'd say keep it. Those negatives would be outweighed by the positives. But there aren't. There are 3 after 23 years.

If the league is being racist in their hiring then let them be held accountable. But don't defend an ineffective rule they get to hide behind while still appearing just as racist.

Like what? They're not going to put a rule in place forcing teams to have a black head coach. Bottom line is teams are gonna hire who they want to hire. Like when the Pats brought in Vrabel. They know they are picking him and there's nothing wrong with that. But bringing in 2 minority candidates just to check a required box isn't progress. It just looks like it is on paper.
