Is shooting someone unannounced the same as a sucker punch? 🤔

Is shooting someone unannounced as cowardly as the "sucker punch"?

I saw the video.

Didn’t see one with audio.
But if that dude in red said some dumb shit that implied a threat to the patrons of the gas station then it was likely a good shoot.

Beyond that, that was some cowboy shit and he would’ve likely been praised for his actions had he not been a cop.

Here's the one with audio:

This was a good shot. Dude in the red clearly presents himself as a threat to the other patrons by pulling a gun out of his waistband and threatening the other cat with it.

Commands didn't need to be issued, in the moment, even with him walking out the door, the gun is still drawn and he's still a threat. This happened in North Carolina, a Stand Your Ground state and their version of it (like most other states with it) includes the right to respond with deadly force in the defense of others, not just yourself.

Red nigga just made threats to kill someone while brandishing a gun. Yeah, that's grounds to get shot by someone in the immediate area legally carrying.

Justified...idk. but buddy in the red played with his own life by escalating the situation and pulling out his gun 1st. You don't know how someone around is gonna react to that...and yeah I would consider that a threat to the others in that store

Yeah see, even that is borderline.

He was arguing with the one dude, pulled his weapon out, and repeated 2 times, 'You wanna lose your life tonight?'.
In defense of others means just that.

clean shoot

Though blindly shooting out a door without knowing what’s beyond your target is some dumb cowboy shit.

So an off duty cop shot a dude in the back in Georgia for threatening to kill some one with as replica gun.

It's on video, he never pointed the replica at anyone... But he was definitely talking shit. Off duty officer waited until the man turned his head, then shot him without announcing himself as an officer, or ordering him to put his gun down.

Just started bussing when dude turned his head.

Everyone saying it was a justified shooting.

But if it was just fists, and dude was threatening to punch someone, and the someone waited till he turned his head to punch him in the back of the head....

It's a sucker punch.

Just saying how it's crazy how the rules of engagement favor deadly force.

Shooting a man in the back has always been considered cowardly though.

Considering it was a replica, only life that was in danger was his.... But I get what you saying

Lawwwwwd and it was a fake gun…. Dude just wanted to die. I’m mad it was a cac but he was just asking for shit to go wrong and to suffer the ultimate consequence by losing his life.

I'm pretty sure even pulling that gun out like that was a crime. It's called brandishing. That's what Pimp C went to jail for.

But yeah, I agree with everyone else. If you bring the gun out and you're also the one presenting the aggression, all bets are off.

I know @konceptjones will disagree, but for a lot of people concealed carrying is more trouble than its worth. In 90% of encounters, you can walk away with no problems. People be turning things worst than they have to be because they got guns on them.

On a side note, did white boy really miss all those shots? How? He got that storm trooper level aim.

Understandable.

Police did the same thing to Tamar Rice though 🤕

Somehow I knew someone was going to bring this up

Difference is that Tamir Rice was child, it can easily be assumed, and should have been assumed, that he had a toy gun.

A grown ass 40+ year old nigga pullin a gun from his waistband and making threats ain't the same and you know it.
