Iām gassing it because itās funny but he does turn 25 in his 2nd yearHe's 25? Why would they do that twice?

Still gross.Iām gassing it because itās funny but he does turn 25 in his 2nd year
In your mind of course. But I can almost guarantee you masai is going to go draft 2 guys he likes, take at least half but probably the whole season to see how kyrie and lively fit in healthy with the roster and after "evaluating" (his go to word) either double down or rebuild/retool around Cooper.
I think there's enough talent there for them to be in the play-in/playoff mix next year and if not there's enough talent to trade for frp's.Even if your the best GM...walking into a situation where you don't control your draft picks for 4 years is very difficult
Its hard to rebuild/retool without those assets
I like Masai but he didnt exactly cover himself in glory from 2021 until his departure however I do think he's refreshed and motivated for this opportunity
Going to be interesting to see what he does this summer and players he targets in the draft

Gaining kyrie and lively is a boon for any roster whether on the court or as trade assets. Not an ideal situation by any means but its far from doom and gloom. No bad contracts tying them down anywhere. Masai can work with that.
Itās funny how the Jazz are a key part of things for 3 playersWizards should absolutely try to fleece Ainge/Utah and move down to two and take Peterson
Itās funny how the Jazz are a key part of things for 3 players
AJ had his senior year and college in Utah so you can see how he could be on the jazz
Carlos boozer scouts for the Jazz and he played there so you can make a case for boozer going there (unlikely)
But I wrestle with the AJ stuff because from a team building aspect DP is probably the better player to have and he would help get Trae removed
Not to mention you can trade AJ to Utah which would make Utah very happy and you could get maybe a Bailey or keyonte or whatever else added
Not to mention idk what Keyonte and DP would look like
but relationships and fits aside, if it was up to me I would not trade him
This is the wizardsā first #1 pick since wall and AJ is an archetype that is rare
Itās just that them picking #1 might mess with the AD/Trae timeline but to me that doesnāt matter
You have a young core of
George
AJ
Bilal
Sarr
Just turn Tre, Carrington, and change into scoot or something then fire Brian keefe
They have the assets
Oh I know the timeline thing isnāt really a thing because the wizards are a stop gap for bothThe AD/Trae timeline was never really a thing
Wizards couldn't pass up the cost of acquiring them and it was mutually beneficial for both the team and the players but they were always going to attempt to rehabilitate and trade both of them
Wizards can really go in a ton of different ways right now and are in a great situation
They just cant afford to fuck this up....might never get another chance to be set up this well
Oh I know the timeline thing isnāt really a thing because the wizards are a stop gap for both
I mean in the sense them getting the #1 pick instead of, letās say 4 or 5 would make them pivot to trading them sooner than they maybe figured they would (even though all parties know it was never long term)
Iām just saying it probably bumped things up slightly
Like instead of next offseason itās the deadline or potentially even this off season
Yeah I donāt even think of AD because heās tradeable and AD being flipped is not that hard to meOh I see
100% agree
That's the nature of the league, plans can change quick
I think they might actually be able to get off AD and he get some positive value for him this summer.....Idk what theyāre going to do with him. Even if he starts off the season well and they rehabilitate him a little I still dont see a team that wants, needs or is willing to give up positive value for him
Like the idea of AD still makes sense for most teams and he could help a team make run...thats not the Case for Trae
Yeah I donāt even think of AD because heās tradeable and AD being flipped is not that hard to me
Trae on the other hand worries me because I donāt want him there at all especially with all the guards there already
but idk who the hell would trade for himā¦the nets?
